Join Kitchener Cemeteries during the month of December to celebrate, remember and give back.

Each year, families are invited to The Dedication Centre at Williamsburg Cemetery to see the Tree of Remembrance. This breath-taking 20-foot fir tree is seasonally decorated for families, who have experienced a loss, to place an ornament on the tree in memory of their loved one.

In an effort to help those in need, Williamsburg Cemetery features a second tree to be dressed with donations of new hats, mitts, scarves, socks and boots. All items will be donated to local charities, such as St. John's Kitchen, which provides support and outreach services in downtown Kitchener, as well as the YWCA emergency shelter (Mary's Place), providing shelter for single women, transgender women and men, non-binary people and their children.

Both trees are located in The Dedication Centre at Williamsburg Cemetery. You’re welcome to drop-off donations, hang an ornament or quietly reflect throughout the month of December, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., or you can plan on attending our Tree of Remembrance event.
