St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery

St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, located at 243 Weber Street East near downtown Kitchener, is a small but historic cemetery with roots dating back to the mid‑1800s. Covering approximately six acres, it offers a peaceful, well-treed setting that reflects generations of local history.

A welcoming wrought-iron fence and stone pillars mark the cemetery entrance, leading into a landscape of mature trees and quiet roadways. The cemetery also borders First Mennonite Cemetery, creating a continuous area of long-standing cultural and family connections.

Originally owned and operated by St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, the cemetery was transferred to the care of the City of Kitchener in the 1990s, ensuring it continues to be respectfully maintained for today’s visitors and for future generations.

Seasonal access note: Roadways within the cemetery are narrow and surfaced with a mix of stone and recycled asphalt. As a result, winter maintenance is limited to the entrance area, and not all internal roadways are maintained during the winter season.

NOTE: This is an active cemetery. Burial services are conducted but there are no lots available for sale.
