Things to Know When Choosing a Resting Place

  • Purchasing a resting place means purchasing interment rights (the right to bury).
  • Continuous care is included with the purchase of a lot, niche, or crypt and supports ongoing maintenance of the cemetery.
  • All lots, niches, and crypts remain the property of the cemetery.
  • Concrete cremation vaults require approval from the cemetery manager.
  • Extra‑deep (casket‑over‑casket) burials are not permitted.
  • Up to two cremation interments (urns) may be placed above an existing casket burial with permission from the Interment Rights holder(s).

Cremation options

This is an affordable option, which allows you to add meaningful inscriptions and images to the marker. The marker is installed level/flush with the ground. You have the option to purchase in-ground vases for fresh cut flowers, installed by cemetery staff.

Location on property:

Number of interments: Up to two cremations.

Price range (subject to change): $650 - $2,924

Marker options: Flat marker

Upright monuments are the most common option. It provide families with the opportunity to inscribe the monument with important information such as dates, photo etchings, and favourite sayings. Most cremation upright lots allow for a flowerbed, which is installed by cemetery staff, by request. Please confirm with Cemetery By-laws as well as the lot diagram provided at the time of sale to confirm flowerbed availability.

Number of interments: Up to four cremations.

Price range (subject to change): $2,254 - $3,884 

Marker options:  Upright monument

The columbarium is an above-ground structure that contains compartments, called niches. Urns can be interred within a niche. Each niche can be marked with a bronze plaque, which includes names and dates.

NOTE: please consult with cemetery staff prior to purchasing an urn to ensure it will fit into the niche.

Location on property:

Number of interments: Up to two cremations (NOTE: some units in the indoor columbaria only permit one cremation).

Price range (subject to change): $4,300- $10,275

Reflection stones are one of our untraditional options, which offer a final resting place in a more natural setting. Urns are interred in-ground close to the boulder. Each boulder can be marked with a bronze plaque, which includes names, dates and a personalized epitaph.

Location on property: Williamsburg Cemetery on the path beside Promontory Pond, in the interior of the Stoney Ridge wall or along the putting green of the golf section.

Number of interments: Up to two cremations

Price range (subject to change): starting at $8,840

Stoney Ridge is one of our untraditional options, which offer a final resting place that is unique by being located adjacent to a natural stone circular wall in Williamsburg Cemetery. Urns are interred in-ground at the base of the wall and can be memorialized with a tree bark-textured bronze plaque on the wall that can be inscribed with names, dates, a personalized epitaph and choice of a motif.

Location on property: Located in the centre of Williamsburg Cemetery near the natural wetlands

Number of interments: Up to two cremations

Price range (subject to change): starting at $7,722

Sanctuary Woods is one of our untraditional options, ideal for nature lovers and for those wishing to reduce their carbon footprint. This greener interment option offers a peaceful resting place, surrounded by nature.

Location on property: This natural wooded area is located in Williamsburg Cemetery adjacent to the promontory pond.

Number of interments: Up to three cremations

Price range (subject to change): starting at $9,562

Marker options: Lot is marked with an existing birch or maple tree as a living memorial. You also have the option for a pillow marker or a flat marker at the base of the tree.

Scattering garden is one of our untraditional options, ideal for those wishing for a green, yet affordable option. This greener interment option is great for nature lovers and those wishing to reduce their carbon footprint.  

Please note: Scatterings can only take place seasonally approximately, June 1 to November 1.

Price range (subject to change): starting at $324

Marker options: A bronze name plaque can be added to the large boulder located adjacent to the scattering garden in Williamsburg Cemetery or you can consider other tribute options.

The ossuary is one of our untraditional options, ideal for someone looking for an inexpensive and simple option. This interment option is ideal for someone who loves golf. Cremated remains are decanted into an underground chamber located beneath the golf pin.

Please note: Scatterings can only take place seasonally, approximately June 1 to November 1.

Location on property: Underneath the pin located in the golf section near the wetlands of Williamsburg Cemetery.

Number of interments: Not applicable.

Price range (subject to change): starting at $270

Marker options: A bronze name plaque can be added to the large boulder located adjacent to the ossuary or you can consider other tribute options.

Traditional casket options

This is an affordable option, which allows you to add meaningful inscriptions and images to the marker. The marker is installed level/flush with the ground. You have the option to purchase in-ground vases for fresh cut flowers, installed by cemetery staff.

Location on property:

Number of interments: up to one casket burial (or one casket and two cremations) per grave. You can purchase multiple flat marker graves in a row if you wish to have your final resting place beside a loved one.

Price range (subject to change, starting at): $2,475

Marker option: Flat marker

Offers a beautiful landscape for those who wish to be buried in a natural setting near a pond.

Location on property: Located in Williamsburg Cemetery near the pond and across from the Dedication Centre.

Number of interments: Up to one casket burial (or one casket and two cremations) per grave. You can purchase a single-grave or two-grave lot within this section.

Price range (subject to change):  starting at $7,311
