Decoration and planting
Decorations and plantings are welcomed at your loved one’s final resting place in all six of our cemeteries, but they must follow our guidelines to help keep Kitchener cemeteries safe and welcoming for all.
What is permitted
- Artificial flower saddle wreath (permitted year-round on upright monuments)
- Artificial flowers on tripod stand (permitted from Thanksgiving weekend until April 15)
- Flowers within a flowerbed (upright monuments only)
- Flowers in an in-ground vase (permitted year-round)
- Plastic solar lights (1 per lot on lots with upright monuments)
What is not permitted
- Glass and breakable items
- Fast spreading flowers or flowers with thorns (e.g. lily of the valley, roses)
Flowerbeds can be installed by cemetery staff upon request at any lot with an upright monument. On lots with flat monuments, in-ground vases can be installed by cemetery staff upon request. If you would like a flowerbed or in-ground monument installed at your loved one’s final resting place, please contact us.
