Bereaved Families of Ontario – Midwestern Region (BFO-MR), in partnership with Kitchener Cemeteries, hosts an annual event to support the healing process for those who have lost loved ones.

Come together with the support of your community to celebrate the life of a loved one by releasing a beautiful painted lady butterfly in their memory. We are very pleased to be able to return to an in-person event this year and bring people together who can relate to each other’s experiences. 

Butterfly pick-up, refreshments, live music, and crafts for kids will run from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by the opening ceremony. The butterfly release and walk will begin at 2:30 p.m. You can also share pictures to be included in a slideshow or honour your loved one with a memorial sign that will be placed along the walking path at Williamsburg Cemetery. 

Butterflies and memory signs can be purchased online at through the Bereaved Families of Ontario – Midwestern Region website or by calling 519-603-0196. The deadline for purchases is Friday, August 26.
Purchase is not necessary to attend, all are welcome.
